HELP!!!

We need your help to get MonstroCity High into production.

SERIOUSLY, we can't do this without you! Believe me, we tried. It's not that we didn't want to come to you first, it's just, umm....well, this is awkward.

Maybe you should visit our project at IndieGoGo.

Hey Todd, doesnt the channel fund the cartoon's episodes? What exactly do you need support for? And while i really appreciate the invite, i'm still an animation student and barely have enough to support myself . But I always thought that once the show goes trough the channel gives the ok and the funding for the first season, or maybe i'm wrong

btw, why do you need money? i thought the network gave it to you.

No, you're right.

The show 'was' optioned by Cartoon Network. The shows development was funded, in part, by CN - up to the point where it was ready to go into production.

The creator's (me and Mark) worked hand-in-hand with CN's development team to make sure we met the vision of the network. - everyone was thrilled with the work!

At the point where everyone felt the project was good to go, the 'development team' presented the project to the 'powers that be' - sort of like in the Wizard of OZ.

Now we waited for a YES or a NO from the people with the money. In our case...we sadly received a NO - despite all the accolades the show was getting from the CN team, creators, artists and fans alike.

Although we all tried to make this happen with CN and then later with Disney then Nickelodeon and last but not least, Teletoon...it just didn't meet the networks current mandate - which is constantly changing and is probably different now then it was then.

Today, Mark and I find ourselves in a position where we have a killer show and an enormous wall between it and you. An expensive wall that we as creators had no choice but to help build. You have to play the game - good or bad - if they want your shows to run on a network.

Listen, we're not rich either. We're just two guys that wanted to make a funny series. We STILL want to make that series - we just have a HUGE network bill attached to it now.

This, my friend, is THE classic 'CATCH 22' situation and I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. Maybe if we went the way of IndieGoGo to begin with, we'd all be laughing at the series now.

thanks a lot for the insight on it, again i'm really sorry i cant donate, but if you need any flash scene work done for free lemme know! also i like how so many people said they'd donate but still nothing's raised... Maybe you can talk to frederator to feature you and plug your indiegogo link as a ton of people get their free podcast every week

no problem. i wouldn't ask from anyone who needs to support themselves first - i totally understand.

and thx for the advice about frederator.

I could probably help out a little. I was just checking it out myself and noticed the cheerleader character's name is very similar to my stepsister's. She has a funny sounding name too:) But yeah it looks awesome! I wanna help!

thx Mary - much appreciated ;)

eep...course I'm one of those people who have no credit card so I'd have to snail mail a check. But it's still helping.

Did you try YTV or Family? Maybe that will work.

Nickelodeon (in the United States) needs more Nicktoons, so put Monstro City High on Nickelodeon please? I want to see Monsrto City High on Nickelodeon in the United States!

Todd Kauffman said...

Nick already passed on the idea - they said it was more suited for a Cartoon Network audience.

Todd Kauffman said...

YTV and Family have to young an audience for this show.

Ah crap, I'd love to donate but I don't own a VISA or Mastercard.

Don't suppose you'd consider including Paypal as a donation option?

Todd Kauffman said...

That would be awesome. But it's not my site - i should suggest it to them though.
